As some of you may know, I LOVE giving gifts. It is one of my absolute greatest pleasures. Because we are on a student’s budget, I often have to get a bit creative when it comes to gift-giving. When I saw how cute and affordable these dog biscuits were, I couldn’t wait to make them! We don’t have a pet, but we have lots of friends who do and I bet their puppies will enjoy them! We are also hoping to give some to a local shelter.

Austin, Year 4, Day 12: Pampering in a Jar
Posted onEvery year, Ysabel’s dance team does a big sister/little sister thing. The first year Ysabel’s big sister got very little. Last year, her little sister got things Ysabel made because we were just sooo busy and things were so crazy that I kept forgetting. (Fortunately, Ysabel is pretty crafty!) This year, Ysabel is a little sister again and I have vowed to keep on top of this!
I saw a great idea for Pampering in a Jar over at Practically Living and thought it would be perfect. Dancers definitely need pampering. Especially their little feeties.
We included a pair of comfy socks, some hand cream, a lip balm (that’s the mini Mountain Dew bottle), some body spray, a few Reese’s PB cups, and to make up for all those chemicals, a Baby Bizi’s Mint Chocolate Chip Organic soap.

Nothing fancy, but something to help her relax after a long day of practice!

Austin, Year 3, Day 313: Basketful of Sunshine
Posted onToday, we made a “Basketful of Sunshine” for my friend’s birthday. I was going to take a picture of it, but, of course, I forgot. However, if you would like to make your own, you can follow this link:
Ours didn’t look exactly like this. We used a cute little basket (not a box) from Dollar Tree and put in some fun stuff that we thought Diane would like. A little yellow notepad, Lemon Heads, a yellow kitchen towel, a yellow bath pouf, yellow nail polish, etc. My favorite was a glass with lemons on it that we also found at Dollar Tree. It was fun for the kids to help me put it together and it didn’t break the bank (also nice).
I also found these thoughts on Pinterest today that I thought I’d share with you. The first one is inappropriate, but I know you’ve thought it. Or maybe it’s just me… Whatever.
My favorite Shakespeare quote. Maybe it’s because I’m 5 foot tall…
