Yesterday we went to Plano to spend the night with, as I said, two of our favorite people, Molly and Larry Lake. They were so awesome. They had snacks and comfy beds and puppies. Good times.
Then this morning we went to Kennedale to watch Ysa and Team Y perform their 2 Hype routines. Of course, they were awesome. I know I promised pictures, but I forgot the camera. Tried to take some with the phone, but we always sit waaay in the back (to cut down on the noise that is automatically created when a large family attends any event), and my pictures didn’t turn out so hot.
This is the best I could get (Ysa’s on the left in a white shirt and black shorts…right next to Lainey…surprise, surprise!):
We got home around five-ish, had some dinner and then I decided to make a work-out shirt from a mini-tutorial I saw on Pinterest. Not that I’ve been doing much working out lately. (Life trumped the marathon…that, and planning on leaving the state…) I just thought it looked cute and I wanted to try it.
This weekend wasn’t the first time I’ve watched you dance. It wasn’t the first time that I’ve hung on the edge of my seat, oblivious to everyone else in the room. It wasn’t the first time your very existence has brought me to tears.
This weekend was also not the first time I’ve seen what goes on off-stage. I’ve been a dance mom, albeit a disorganized, forgetful, unprepared one, for two years. Not long enough to be a card-carrying member, but long enough to know that it’s not all smiles and glitter.
This is one of Ysa’s competitive routines from last year. My favorite actually. Bailey from Sharpshooters gave me her permission to post this, just in case anyone was concerned. And I can’t really type because I have Bizi on my lap…so, bye.
